Steel City with A Big Heart.

Okay, so Hey There people, including you Abi. The names Naomi, I have been to Sheffield and back
and have a lovely little report for you. Think of it as a field trip report, lovely? LET'S BEGIN THEN!

So on the weekend just gone, I went to visit my two wonderful little friends Toni and Adele,

as excited as I was, I was still a little bit sloshed from the night before which ended with line dancing to Mumford and Sons' Little Lion Man in a nightclub and a Star Wars light sabre fight with Abi in McDonalds at half three in the morning..Oh look at me, I've digressed!

So as I was on the train to Sheffield, slowly sobering up I began to get more and more excited as well as tired (remember this for the latter part of the story.) I realised to myself that I had built up my own idea of what I was expecting Sheffield to look like, which was not most positive. Basically I thought it was going to be an urban no-mans land, but as I got off the train and was greeted by my friends with warm hugs, I was nicely surprised by how cool Sheffield looked, the first thing I said to my friends was 'THERE'S SO MUCH WATER'. For those of you who have been to Sheffield before you will understand what I mean.Just as I walked out of the station I was amazed by the two water fountains one was made of smooth aluminium metal- 'quite ironic to say it's the steel city' (many thanks to Bob Brougham for that inspirational quip) and the other was made of stone. As we walked through the city centre I admired the old architecture amidst the new shiny shops, oh and another fountain!

The city had a very cosmopolitan feel to it, very different to Leicester which is where I currently reside. I felt like everything was happening so fast around me and I couldn't quite keep up.

We finally arrived back at my friends house and having had a much needed gossip/catch-up and met all her wicked house mates and we began to get ready for our night out on the town, all looking dapper, obviously, we started pre drinking, by the time we headed out we were all a little merry, and decided to make a pit-stop in a cheap-as-chips bar called Basement which sold double Vodka's for £1.50. I really wasn't joking when I said cheap.

Finally we made our way to DQ a club/bar which was pretty ace, it played electronic remixes of songs and future beats, which would have been right up my street IF I hadn't purchased 6 Carlsbergs virtually all at once which resulted in me pretty much falling asleep on the dance floor and also coincided with me being unable to remember my night the next day.. All I know is that I had a lot of fun.

So the next we opted to go around the town, all hanging pretty much out of our arses, we trawled the vintage shops of Sheffield which I must say are Lush! (a lot better and cheaper than the ones in Leicester) COW is one that stood out for me literally because it is banana yellow, anyone else who's been to COW isn't it Amahzing!?

Just as I was about to leave to get the train back to Leicester, Adele took me to the most beautiful building probably in Sheffield, called Firth Court, it is so pretty even the Queen had to visit it!

Having been put safely onto the right train I said my farewells to Adele and Sheffield and fell asleep.

Mucho Lovelo,
Namoo

Matt Solomon, photographer.

Hopefully without sounding like a pervert, I ruddy love looking at photos for ages and ages so if I find any I really like I will undoubtedly put them on here. Or post a good website at least! So before I go to have some carrot cake and a cup of tea with our lovely friend Melissa I will post my first proper post!
I found this photographer through Ben Trovato, one of my favourite blogs ever. It features different photographer each post, with a selection or set of images and some information on the featured photographer! Go and have a look and let us know what you think!
Credits go to Matt Solomon for photography.

Naomi is in Sheffield at the moment no doubt partying and having lots of fun with her super friends. She’s back on Sunday ready for our date with Jessie on Monday. I am super lucky to be going on a date with not one but 2 of my lovely friends AND we’re going to PIZZA EXPRESS in The Lanes. CAN’T WAIT FOR DOUGH BALLS.

Lots of Love,

Let's just bloody do it!

In the effort of deciding whether or not to go out as a proverb, Abi and Naomi welcome you to this lovely blog as procrastination and deviation from the original task.

Hi there!

We are a two-piece, extraordinary, paired duo of friends who enjoy the finer things that the world has to offer.

Cupcakes
Shoes
Make-up
Limericks
Clothing
Velvet
A good old-fashioned knees-up
Pub quiz
Puns
"Bants" - Although Naomi just self confessed that she is shit at banter, and Abi hates the word.

To name but a few! We are hoping that this blog gives you a jolly insight into the the mundane, slightly sludgy workings of our life. Sometimes we may even introduce a friend or two.

Lovely jubbley,

Abi & Naomi x
